About solar panels PV (photovoltaic)

Solar Panels are also known as PV panels or Photovoltaic panels (PV). These panels comprising an array of PV cells which captures the energy from the sun directly and converts it into electricity. Some of the materials for making solar photovoltaic panels include monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, microcrystalline silicon, cadmium telluride and copper indium sulphyde. The main product in use today are the mono and poly types.

There is an increasing demand for alternate and renewable sources of energy to meet the ever growing energy needs. With the advancement of solar technology the production of solar photovoltaic panels has increased by more than two times during the past decade or so. No wonder then photovoltaic production is one of the fastest growing technologies in the world today. This power can be used to generate electricity for businesses,  homes, boats, and now directly to electric cars.

You can now put solar panels on the roof  of your home relatively cheaply. You can use the power generated from the solar panels as a main source of electric power during the day and even store any excess for use at night. By using it as a main source of power you will be able to save on long term electricity costs as you will no longer have to pay large electricity bills to your utility company. Lastly, you will be able to generate electricity in an unpolluted manner and contribute to a clean and green environment.
