Off Grid Power Inverters
Inverters are a device that changes the Direct Current (DC) in to Alternating Current (AC). DC power is the kind found in your car or vehicle and most battery powered devices. AC power is the type of power that the wall socket in your house provides. With solar off-grid you use the solar panel to charge a battery. This is done through a Solar Charge Controller. The Battery then holds the electricity and you can use it to power your devices. But in many occasions you may wish to power a TV or fridge that uses the household AC power. To do this you use an inverter.
There are 2 types of inverter available. Modified Sine Wave and Pure Sine Wave. Modified Sine wave is the Leisure inverter designed to operate most devices perfectly but TV's, Audio equipment and appliances with motors may run with some interference. Typically these Modified Sine Inverters are around 90% efficient. The Pure Sine Wave inverters produce a perfect power source and are known to be very reliable. All devices will run perfectly on these superior inverters without hesitation and at around 95% efficiency.
